Your Home Care FAQs

Please reach us at nursing@bhchomecare.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A: In Maryland, a Level 3 RSA license is the highest tier of in-home care licensure. It means we are legally authorized to provide both non-medical personal care (like bathing and meal prep) and complex skilled nursing care (like wound care, ventilator support, and medication administration) under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). You get the comprehensive benefits of a nursing facility right in the safety and comfort of your own home

A: We specialize in rapid-response admissions to prevent delays in hospital discharges. Our clinical team can coordinate directly with your hospital discharge planner or case manager to conduct an in-home safety and health assessment within 24 to 48 hours of your initial request, ensuring a seamless transition without a gap in care.

A: It depends on the type of care your loved one needs. For non-medical personal care and companion services, a doctor’s order is not required. However, for skilled clinical nursing treatments, complex medication administration, or if you are looking to utilize specific Maryland Medicaid Waiver programs, an official physician's order or care plan directive is required.

A: Every single client receives a fully customized care plan designed and driven by an authorized Registered Nurse (RN). The RN performs regular in-home clinical assessments, delegates specific medical tasks to our highly trained care team, and continuously monitors your loved one’s health status to adjust the care plan as their physical or cognitive needs change.

A: Your loved one’s safety and routine are our highest priorities. We utilize a team-based approach to care, meaning we cross-train secondary caregivers on your loved one's specific care plan from day one. If your primary caregiver is unavailable, a qualified, fully briefed backup professional from our agency will step in seamlessly so that care is never interrupted.

A: BHC Home care provides in-home care services throughout Baltimore City and all surrounding central Maryland counties, including:

  • Baltimore County
  • Harford County
  • Carroll County

A: Yes. We provide complete mobility and transportation support. To guarantee your loved one's safety and peace of mind, every caregiver authorized to transport patients is strictly required to hold a valid driver’s license and up-to-date auto insurance. Whether they need to go to a routine doctor's visit, a physical therapy session, or pick up a prescription, our care team will get them there safely and assist them every step of the way.
